Student Led Transition Program
BPS is committed to ensuring a peer-led, safe, and positive transition for students from military families into our schools. For support, please contact the Military Point of Contact listed at the top of this webpage.
Students meet with new Military Students and we (peers and MPOC) lead and help students get adjusted to our school, sharing about our programs and how things work at our school. It is fun and easy as the students introduce our new Military Student to our community in Port Malabar.
The school district works with the SLO to provide training that helps teachers recognize the unique challenges that military connected students face.
Our six grade students will write letters to our active military and veterans prior to Veterans Day. We work with the local VFW and Patrick AFB to mail them out to the recipients.
